Pennsylvania is two busy video markets with a lot of state in between. In the 2025-26 round, a record 59 productions won Pennsylvania film tax credits, including Mayor of Kingstown and HBO's Task. Follow the money and Pittsburgh tends to get the big TV series, while Philadelphia gets a steady run of smaller shoots.
Brand video follows a similar pattern. Philadelphia has Comcast, Aramark and plenty of hospitals and universities, Pittsburgh has PNC, and places like Lancaster and Bethlehem have production companies doing work you'd expect from a much bigger city. The hard part is working out which of them suits your budget and where your video needs to end up.
Our pick covers Philadelphia and the Main Line, Pittsburgh, Lancaster and Bethlehem. You'll notice who's at number one.

We'll admit it's handy being the ones who write the list, so judge us on the work.
Most of what we make is YouTube, which is a different job from a TV ad or a corporate film. We've produced YouTube videos for Intuit QuickBooks since 2024, and they've passed 2.5 million views between them. We also make them for L'Oréal's La Roche-Posay, and Nikon (USA) is a client too.
Clicking on a YouTube video is a bit like a blind date, because all you've got to go on is the photo. So we plan the title and thumbnail first, and a lot of our team's time goes on research and strategy before anyone picks up a camera. We'd rather spend an extra week finding the idea only your brand could make than film something a bigger channel has already done better.
Our nearest office is in New York, about an hour and a half from Philadelphia by train, and we hire local crew for Pennsylvania shoots where it saves you travel costs.
All Ages Productions works out of Philadelphia, with offices in Los Angeles and Prague, and moves between commercials, music videos, animation and documentary. It says its work has won a Primetime Emmy for Patrice: The Movie, along with Peabody and Gotham awards, and its brand clients include Nike, Netflix, Google and Adidas. The pick for brands that want festival-level storytelling.
JTWO Films is a Philadelphia company that calls itself Emmy Award-winning, with more than 20 years behind it. Its edge is post-production. It's a Netflix-certified post house, so the shoot and the finishing happen under one roof. It makes commercials and documentaries, and has run a programme for nonprofits, Projects That Matter, since 2010.
Loaded Pixel Creative was founded in Philadelphia in 2012 and keeps editing, colour, animation and VFX in-house. It specialises in brand films, commercials, documentary and sports storytelling, and plans footage for everything from TikTok to feature-length. Its client logos include Wawa, Penn Medicine and FOX NFL. Good for brands that want one shoot cut for every platform.

7 Wonders is based in Ardmore on the Main Line, with a second office in Los Angeles. It makes brand films, corporate films and video podcasts, then turns them into a steady stream of social content, and one client, Wasabi Technologies, has stayed with it for more than seven years. A good fit for B2B brands that want ongoing content rather than a one-off film.
New Pace Productions is based in Philadelphia and has been working with clients since 2007, mixing live action with 2D and 3D animation. It works across healthcare, higher education, financial services and software, and the clients on its site include Fox Chase Cancer Center and The Wharton School. If you work in comms at a hospital or university, it should be on your shortlist.
Covalent is based in Pittsburgh, with a second office in Berlin. It makes corporate, documentary-style, training and drone video, plus 2D and 3D animation and explainers, and offers video marketing strategy covering YouTube and social. Its client logos include Dollar Bank, Duquesne University and UPMC Health Plan, so it's well placed for finance, education and healthcare clients in western Pennsylvania.

PMI Digital describes itself as a hybrid creative studio and production hub, with bases in Pittsburgh and Los Angeles. It covers commercials, corporate video, animation and documentaries, and names Google, GNC, PPG and EQT among its clients. Worth a look for tech and energy companies, where the product is often hard to show on camera.
MAKE films, in Lancaster, makes commercials, films, TV and social content, and opened a new studio in June 2026. Its spot for Armstrong Flooring picked up ADDY awards, including Best of Show in the Greater Lehigh Valley, and its clients include Chicco and New Holland Agriculture. A strong pick for agriculture and consumer brands in central Pennsylvania.
Golden Pepper Productions was founded in Bethlehem in 2008 by Paul Ricciardi, a Penn State film graduate who started out in TV news. The team makes training, marketing, event and documentary video for the Lehigh Valley, with clients including St. Luke's University Health Network and Just Born, the company behind Peeps. A safe pair of hands for regional healthcare and manufacturing work.
With this many good options, the right one usually comes down to fit. These are the things we'd check before signing anything.
Local crew or travelling crew? A Pittsburgh company filming in Philadelphia will charge for the drive and the hotel. Ask if they'll hire crew near your location, or if a company closer to home makes more sense.
How do review rounds work? Plenty of Pennsylvania brands are in healthcare or finance, where video usually goes through legal or medical review. Ask how many rounds of changes are included, and build the review time into the schedule before you lock a launch date.
What's the plan once it's posted? A homepage film and a YouTube channel are different jobs. YouTube is a long game, and the first few months can feel slow. The companies worth hiring will tell you that up front instead of promising you'll go viral.
Who's on set on the day? Ask whether the director and producer who pitched to you will be at the shoot, or a freelance crew you haven't met. Both can work well, but you should know before the day.
Do you own the footage? Check that raw files are included and who holds the music licences, so you can recut the video next year without starting from scratch.
If you haven't commissioned video before, it helps to know where the time and money go.
Before anyone films anything, your brief becomes a concept and a script, and someone scouts the locations. Philadelphia and Pittsburgh both have film offices that help productions with locations and permits, so ask your production company whether they've worked with them before.
On the day, a typical brand shoot has a director, a camera operator looking after the cinematography, and someone on lighting and audio. Bigger commercial and advertising shoots add a producer, an art department and on-screen talent, which is usually where budgets start to climb.
After the shoot comes editing, colour grading, sound design and any motion graphics, then delivery in the formats each platform needs. This part often takes longer than the filming, especially when the footage has to go through a compliance review.
Shoot days and crew size make the biggest difference to the budget, followed by how much animation or motion graphics you need. Ask for a quote that breaks those costs out, so you can see which parts of the project could be scaled back.
If you're about to brief someone, our guide on how to brief a video production company covers what to put in it.

Get in touch with what you're making and where you're filming. We'll tell you what the first year of a YouTube channel could look like for your brand, slow months included.
